During the month of October, my skin went through a weird phase due to the weather I was exposed to. Because of it, I have mainly skincare products to talk about that I’ve been using all month. I have combination/oily skin, but when the weather gets cooler my skin gets super dry. During October, I had a lot of skin problems where I would have dry patches show up around my nose, on my chin, and around the sides of the eyes. Some products that have been saving my skin and keeping me well hydrated all month have been all the Laneige Water Bank products, but specifically the Water Sleeping Mask and Eye Sleeping Mask. I have eczema that comes and goes randomly, and the dry patches that developed around my eyes were eczema patches. One night I put the Laneige Eye Sleeping Mask under my eyes and on top of the dry patches to test it out, and I swear the next morning my dry patches were gone! This product is a serious miracle worker. I highly recommend this eye cream to everyone. These products are great for dry skin, and really help keep you hydrated overnight. I’ve been using more K-Beauty brands ever since I started working at Sephora, and the brands I really like are Laneige and belif. They both make really good hydrating products that work for all skin types. Even though my skin is normally oily, I still use hydrating moisturizers in my daily routine to keep my skin hydrated and fresh.

I’ve also been breaking out really bad all month, and the Kate Somerville EradiKate Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment has been helping me maintain my acne. I use it twice a week in my nightly routine, and I think it helps minimize my breakouts. The Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum has also been helping me reduce the texture on my skin. I have the most problems with my skin during the fall/winter months because of the cold, so I always try to spend more time on my skincare routine. Once October comes around, I take out my thicker moisturizers and nighttime serums to use. Although it isn’t pictured as one of my favorites, my go-to moisturizer for the past 2 months has been the belif True Cream Moisture Bomb. It smells amazing and hydrates my skin all day without leaving me oily. I highly recommend it if you need the extra hydration.

The next favorite I have is an oldy but a goodie. I’ve been using the Covergirl Clean Matte BB Cream for 2 years now, and I would consider it my holy grail BB Cream. It’s lightweight and does a good job keeping me matte. I used to always wear this to work and on days when I felt like wearing minimal makeup. I stopped wearing it when I bought the Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Foundation and started wearing it as my daily foundation. I started wearing this BB Cream again in October because of my skin problems. I wanted my skin to breathe, but stilll have some coverage, and this product always does the trick for me. You don’t feel like you’re wearing makeup when it’s on your face, and it’s applies flawless with both a brush and beauty blender. I believe it’s only $7 or $8 at the drugstore, so it’s definitely a bang for your buck.

My last favorite makeup product for October is the Shiseido Aura Dew Face, Eyes, Lips Highlighter. It’s a glittery cream multipurpose highlighting product, and it’s so pretty. I use it as a highlight topper, in my inner corners, on my brow bone, and sometimes on the centers of my lids for that extra glitter pop. Shiseido rebranded their makeup line, and all their products have new sleek packaging and high quality ingredients in them. I definitely recommend checking out their makeup line, you may be surprised with what you find.
